We're currently targeting a fall 2016 launch on Kickstarter. We're using Kickstarter to help raise funds in order to place large volume orders of our custom hardware. This will reduce our cost and allow us offer our furniture to you at a lower price. Once we fulfill our Kickstarter orders, we plan to launch to the public through our website some time in December. Yes, our sex bolts require a hex key or allen wrench to secure them, but that's it. If you purchase a kit, we'll provide everything necessary for you to build your furniture.

Our structural segments come in 10 different sizes. The smallest is 10cm by 10cm, (approx 4" by 4") and increase in 10 cm increments up to 10cm by 100cm (approx 4" by 40"). Each segment is 18-19mm (approx 3/4") depending on whether we apply laminates or other coatings.

Our structural segments are currently made of baltic birch plywood and have a high pressure laminate applied to both sides. The baltic birch we use is void free, meaning there are no pockets or knots in the layers. The multiple layers or plies, each glued in alternating grain directions, creates an incredibly strong, durable, and water resistant material. The high pressure laminate, similar to what you might find on a kitchen countertop, adds increased durability and allows us to offer a variety of colors. All of our plywood is CARB 2 compliant.

The baltic birch plywood which we use for the structural segments, while technically marine grade, is not intended to be left outside and exposed to the elements. We do have plans to offer our structural segments in different materials as well though which can be.

We'd love to offer a full array of accessories when we launch, but we'll probably be limited to a few initially and expand from there. We're currently working on cushions that will plug into the structural segments and will be easy to pull off and clean. Additionally we have plans for lights, glass table tops, colored/graphic faceplates, hooks, cup holders, and more.
